Artichoke Festival
As John flew over me (from Chicago) on his way to China, I had to find a way to entertain myself. So I took a little road trip to a small town called Castroville (about an 1.5 hr south) for their annual artichoke festival. I wasn't too lonely cause I found this guy to hang out with :) While walking around, I had an artichoke/shrimp/crab salad, artichoke/carne asada tacos, homemade rootbeer, and an oreo/strawberry parfait...mmmmm. I planned to head to the beach after that, but the coast was lookin pretty foggy...so maybe tomorrow.

Your date's pretty cute. Hope John doesn't get too jealous. :) What's he doing in China?
Yeah, sorry, I realize most people probably don't know why John is in China. His trip is a "class" for his MBA. And since he is doing his online MBA through Whitewater, the class left from Chicago. So in order for John's work to pay for the "class", he had to fly with the group, so we had to fly him to Chicago. He took advantage of that and added a couple days on either end of his trip to see family/friends in Milw. He left on the 15th, and doesn't get back to CA until June 2nd! So look for a post about China after that!
