Cali's Baptism

We're rewinding to June 6th...Cali's Baptism.
She wore the dress that her Great Grandma Strube made many years ago
Cali assesses the situation
The dip
No tears!
Aww, I love those eyelashes (hers that is)
Hanging with Pastor Greg. She was dancing with the music as he introduced her to the congregation and almost didn't want to go back to mommy and daddy! And we thought she'd never get over her stranger anxiety!
Grandma and Grandpa Heltemes
All the people who have worn the dress that Great Grandma made (that were in attendance anyway)
God-parents Hayley and Trent
Great Aunt Kim
Auntie Brooke and Uncle Dylan
Our little family
Mama's girl. And the Kinsey family baptism blanket.

Devil's Lake

We joined a large group that my brother and Brooke put together to go camping this weekend at Devil's Lake. However, due to the challenges that camping with a 1 yr. old brings, Cali and I cheated and spent the nights at a hotel :) Daddy remained at the campsite for s'mores, guitar playing, pudgy pies, good (loud) times, and eventually....eviction.
A day at the beach
Cali LOVED playing in the water and squealing at the dogs running by.
She doesn't quite have the dexterity to build a sand castle yet, but she's thinking about it.
Day two: hiking straight up the cliff to the rock climbing destination
Who knew WI had such elevation! :)
Grammie and Cali
The girls and their hats
The boys
Fun in the baby carrier
Beautiful view
And we're...pooped.

Baby Caeden McConnon

I made a last minute decision to fly to CA last weekend to meet baby McConnon! It was a very short trip, but totally worth it. Unfortunately, Caeden was re-admitted to the hospital the day I arrived for phototherapy for his jaundice. He was only allowed out of his tanning booth to nurse, so I didn't get to see him much until he came home on Sunday. I did spend Saturday night with mommy and baby though and was quickly reminded what it's like to get up every couple hours in the middle of the night! Almost made me think maybe one child is good enough?---until I saw his cute little face....

Proud, happy parents. It was sooo cute to watch them with their little one and see them experience the type of love that only a parent knows. They're already amazing parents.
The kitty checking out her competition.
Lunch out, only minutes after arriving home-these parents are brave! ha.
Now here's the moment I was waiting for--getting to hold him as long as I wanted! (without the nurses wanting to take him back)
He's wearing the outfit I bought Celia a couple years ago, knowing someday she would need it. It's a spaceship!
He opens his eyes!
Getting ready to hit the sun...
Catching some rays in their backyard. Aaahhh...CA.
